I have recently brought a Nissan Navara Aventura 2006 with the built in DVD Satellite Navigation system built in (fixed Screen) Does anyone know how i can play normal DVD's because i've tried inserting a DVD into the box (located underneath the drivers seat) and nothing happens. Thanks in advance|||you cant...the system isnt compatible.|||If the screen is in the dashboard, then it won't work as it's illegal to drive while watching so must only be visible to rear seat passengers. You should have screens on the back of the front seat head rests.|||DVD navigation + Screen does not mean DVD player. The Nav box below your seat is capable of reading a DVD but only knows what navigation files are. It does not have (for example: Media player/Divx/etc) movie capabilities.
In order for your screen to play a DVD you need to get a DVD player (one small enough that it will either fit in the trunk, under a seat, or in a glove box. And you will have to connect it to the screen (by removing it and seeing if it has any aux inputs (which I doubt it will seeing as how it's a stock Screen) - Probably only has 1 hardwire input for the nav. It's possible to remove the nav and replace it with the DVD player, but you might lose your Nav capabilities (or you'll need a splitter with a switch so you can choose which device you want to input to the screen). It'll probably be more work than necessary and watching DVDs while driving is dangerous.|||It is illegal to watch TV when you are driving sorry the kids can buy DVD machine which can be hung over seat in back of driver|||you will find the nav system wont be able to read the movie disc, you would need to get a portable dvd player and hook it into the auxiliary on the nav screen, may be cheaper to get a portable screened dvd player that hangs on the head rest of the front seats so your kids can watch in the back, that way you will also keep onside with the law, cheers
