Satellite navigation (handheld or car)?

What happens when you turn it on.

What gets displayed on a screen.

(when you're flying in an aircraft)|||A title screen comes on then it goes to the map. Sometimes it takes a minute to warm up and get a satellite signal, but then it shows you, usually as a little triangle, in the center of the map. Depending on what type of GPS, it will show a road map for car and handheld ones, (handheld less detailed) and one specifically for an airplane will show airports and VOR stations and such. Then, bordering one of the sides of the screen, it will display things such as time, speed, altitude, distance to destination, and ETA (estimated time of arrival).
