Where does all the information on the Internet come from?

I thought it was via satellite, but a relative says not, because it needs a telephone line? When buying a Satellite navigation system it has to be left outdoors for a period of time to line up with satellite? That's when the conversation began! I had visions of all my deleted e-mails floating around in the Universe?? what does happen to our deletes? This is why I am named Techno blonde!|||you said satelite.. remember that you are talking about GPS navigation which is nothing more than..


A radio that gets messages from different satelites then it takes the message it "Heard" and uses some math and gets your postition on earth. the more satelites the better the postition it "figures" for you.





the internet which is on your computer i.e. your deleted email.. is "housed" in different areas. the internet is carried basicly by special wires/fiber optics accross the US.. at all major cities the wire/fiber optics are then "broken" off for that cities so you can get local carriers who bring it to your house..





I have very over simplified the internet but I was just trying to explan the differences that you asked.|||All the stuff you see on your computer screen are just some electrical signals arranged in an meaningful order that are represented by 1's and 0's. So the deleted data means removed electrical signals which were stored in the computer.





By the way the WWW or the world wide web is the total network of computers in the globe. which could be inter connected by telephone lines, satellites, optic cables, etc... So Internet is the small portion of the WWW. That is consisted of Pictures and other stuff. So there's your answer hope you are happy.|||The information came from powerful computers called servers. These servers are stored on earth.


When you delete an email, the computer just makes itself know that more disk space is available. The email may not be completely gone from the computer until the space is override.|||your question seems confused?
