TomTom XL Live IQ Routes Edition UK and ROI Satellite Navigation System?

I am considering buying this satellite navigation system (http://www.amazon.co.uk/TomTom-Routes-Satellite-Navigation-System/dp/B00359F0IA/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8%26amp;qid=1290290627%26amp;sr=8-7)

However, this is my first time purchasing a satellite navigation system and I'm worried about the 1GB internal memory. Will this be enough, seeing as there is no SD slot available (not available in any of the tom tom systems as far as I can see).

I'd appreciate your help!

Thanks guys!|||this is probably the model you are seeing @ Amazon... http://www.tomtom.com/en_gb/products/car鈥?/a>

it is a regional version, thus only w/ UK %26amp; Ireland maps.

if you wish / need to travel to the continent, you can buy maps w/ the TomTom home application on a Windows PC %26amp; swap the other regional map w/ the UK+Ir map as needed;

each European regional map set also includes the highways for the whole continent, thus allowing you to get close to most destinations w/ highways, respectively if you buy %26amp; install another region, to your destination's doorstep.

alternatively, you could consider http://www.tomtom.com/en_gb/products/car鈥?/a>|||I can tell you that the US map data is larger than the 1GB space you are saying is on there... but I wasn't able to see any technical specifications... I will say that it did get good reviews. I personally love my Tom Tom. I got the XXL lifetime maps and traffic edition.
