I am going to buy a GPS Satellite Navigation system but am confused as to which one is the best. I have heard MIO, Tomtom and navman are pretty good but which brand is the best and most reliable. I am moving to the coast soon and think that life up there would be a whole heap easier with one in my car. But it has to have a long battery life and be capable of navigating thourgh rural australia. Can someone help me??? It has to be sturdy as i have cousins that will probaly play with it! lol kids!!! and totally reliable as i have no sence of direction!! lol

turn on.|||Tomtom|||From experience Garman is the best.|||TomTom. I have a tomtom and a garmin. tomtom gives much better information. For example, if you click on a restaurant, tomtom will give you the times that restaurant is opened and closed. I like it much better than the garmin!!|||if you want free life time live traffic update, then go with navigon.
if you want a good one , but pay yearly for live traffic update, than the garmin nuvi 760 is all you need.
i hope you find this helpful|||Here are the 5 best
1. Garmin Nuvi 880
As we've come to expect from the Nuvi line, the Garmin Nuvi 880 offers an impressive feature list and solid performance, but it's the accurate speech recognition that really pushes the Nuvi 880 over the edge and makes it one of the best GPS we've tested to date.

2.Navigon 7200T
The Navigon 7200T offers an attractive design and plenty of features, including voice address entry, 3D landmark renderings, text-to-speech functionality, and integrated Bluetooth. The user interface and maps still aren't as clean as a Garmin or a TomTom, but performance has improved and address entry by voice can be quite accurate with some training.

3.Magellan Maestro 4370
Despite a couple of minor performance issues, the Magellan Maestro 4370 offers convenience through its new OneTouch interface, providing you with quick one-click access to your preferred destinations. The GPS also delivers with features and accurate directions.
Price: $269.99 - $269.99 (check prices)

4.Mio C520 Navigation Receiver
The sleek Mio C520 is a good-value GPS device, packing in advanced navigation features, a large screen, and other extras for an affordable price. It's even sleek enough that we'd use it as a video player. Our only complaint is that we think you can get a slightly better experience and smoother performance from competing systems.
Price: $286.11 - $286.11 (check prices)

5.TomTom GO 930 GPS
When it comes to in-car GPS, TomTom has always been of the philosophy that its products should be about navigation first. Its latest TomTom GO 930 brings several new features, including advanced lane guidance and historical traffic data, to make it a helpful copilot to any driver.
Price: $399.99 - $499.95 (check prices)

You will have an account on the TomTom website where you can download maps for your location if need be. The graffics are easy to read and understand. Everyone has their own opinion and i have one too, but for around $225.00 you can't beat it
