A vehicle Satellite Navigation system question?

Are there any on the market at the moment that go down to very minute detail.

When the traffic is really bad sometimes I want to go right down to side-street level - that is to say ONLY using side streets. Is there one on the market that say I could set the parameters say from one side street in say North London to another in South West London or maybe even to another city or even to a very small country road. Many times these types of country roads around fields are called 'droves'. Maybe I would like to know the way from one small country road at one end of the country to another small country road at the other end. BUT JUST USING small side streets or just country road.

Recently a shop assistant said this is possible with I think it was the more expensive TOM TOMs' by reducing the speed parameters on them.|||Check this out - TomTom lets users map their own roads http://www.pcpro.co.uk/news/119300/tomto鈥?/a> Looks like what you were asking about with respect to identifying situations with the roadways and updating the maps that everyone uses.|||I don't know how available this would be in London, but I have a Navigon system that I use in Europe. I am able to program what sorts of streets I want to stay on, to an extent. I am able to choose "dynamic routing," which keeps me off autobahns, crowded city streets and truck routes if I so choose. It also updates the routes in case of traffic jams or accidents.
