Where Is The Best Place To Position Your Sat Nav?

Hi everyone! I am wondering where is the best (i.e safest and best place visually) to position your satellite navigation in the car? Thank you in advance for any answers! If you have to see it then mount it on the window under your mirror.|||Maybe your dash, but many have suction cups, so that's not an option.
