Does it cost money for gps on my verizon phone?

Okay so I just got a droid x and I have the data plan the 29.99 dollars a month thing and my phone came with navigation but I have to turn my gps satellite on does that cost money ?|||Well to use the actual GPS, it shouldn't but to load up the data %26amp; apps yes (if on a 3G connection)
